Fans Hub

Here at The Fans Museum we take mental health seriously and work very closely with Men in need in our local community with our own Fans Hub.

At least once a week we all meet up, support each other and play football. Men of all ages from 18 to 60+ meet in a safe none judgemental space and play the game they love. With a combination of physical exercise and reigniting the flame inside men of their sometimes past love of football has been shown to improve mental health.

The Fans Hub is open and welcoming to people of all levels of ability and needs as we believe everyone, no matter what deserves the chance to play our beautiful game. If you are interested in joining us please get in touch here

The Fans Hub is also part of our new Inclusion League, which welcomes men of all  abilities, fitness levels and disabilities.  To find out more about our Inclusion League and how to join click here

The Fans Hub regularly play friendly games against various teams.  You can find more info about them below.  If you would like play a friendly against the Fans Hub please contact us here

⚽️ The Fans Hub vs The Black Cats of Italy⚽️

On Sunday, The Fans Museum had the pleasure of welcoming the Black Cats of Italy , who have been visiting Sunderland for the weekend as part of a special exchange of football, culture, and friendship.

The weekend culminated in a friendly cup match at the University of Sunderland , where The Fans Museum took on the visiting side in a closely contested and spirited game. After an excellent display from both teams, The Fans Museum came out on top on this occasion.

But the story doesn’t end here…

We are already looking forward to travelling to Italy in the future for the return fixture, where we will proudly defend the title and continue building this incredible international connection through the game we all love.

This fixture is part of The Fans Hub, The Fans Museum’s mental health initiative that brings men of all ages and abilities together through football. It’s about more than just the result on the pitch - it’s about friendship, support, wellbeing and creating a safe space where people can connect and talk while staying active.

A huge thank you to the Black Cats of Italy for their visit, sportsmanship, and friendship. We look forward to seeing you again soon — in Italy.
