On Sunday, The Fans Museum had the pleasure of welcoming the Black Cats of Italy , who have been visiting Sunderland for the weekend as part of a special exchange of football, culture, and friendship.

The weekend culminated in a friendly cup match at the University of Sunderland , where The Fans Museum took on the visiting side in a closely contested and spirited game. After an excellent display from both teams, The Fans Museum came out on top on this occasion.
But the story doesn’t end here…

We are already looking forward to travelling to Italy in the future for the return fixture, where we will proudly defend the title and continue building this incredible international connection through the game we all love.

This fixture is part of The Fans Hub, The Fans Museum’s mental health initiative that brings men of all ages and abilities together through football. It’s about more than just the result on the pitch – it’s about friendship, support, wellbeing and creating a safe space where people can connect and talk while staying active.
